Who Is Behind This Site
My name is Daniel Mercer, and I am the founder and lead writer of Style Obsidian. I did not start this site because I had a marketing plan or a business strategy. I started it because I genuinely could not find the kind of men’s style content I was actually looking for content that was honest, detailed, and written by someone who actually cared about the subject.
I have always believed that the way a man presents himself changes everything. Not in a shallow way, but in a deeply practical one. A haircut that suits your face shape, a beard style that fits your lifestyle, an outfit that actually fits your body these things affect how you feel when you leave the house in the morning. That has always mattered to me, and it is what Style Obsidian is built around.
How This Site Started
Years before Style Obsidian existed, I was the person my friends came to when they needed style advice. What haircut should I get? Does this outfit work? How do I shape my beard? I enjoyed those conversations. I liked breaking things down in a way that made sense to real people rather than just repeating what fashion magazines were saying.
Eventually I realized I should be writing it all down. Style Obsidian launched as a place where men could get clear, honest, and actually useful style guidance without having to wade through content that felt generic or out of touch.

Style Obsidian focuses on the areas of men’s style that matter most in everyday life. We cover hairstyles in real depth, from classic barbershop cuts to modern fades and curly texture styles. We cover beard grooming with actual step-by-step guidance, not just a list of style names. We cover fashion and outfits with a focus on what real men can wear in real situations, whether that is a casual weekend look or something sharp for a night out. We also cover home décor for men, because your living space is an extension of your personal style and deserves the same attention.
